The Story of Eclipse Handmade

Eclipse Handmade was born between two worlds—France and Canada—reflecting a blend of cultures, landscapes, and creative energy. The brand’s founder and designer, Dorothée, first arrived in Toronto in 2009, bringing with her a long-standing passion for creating meaningful, original jewelry. Though she had always been drawn to artistic expression, it was after settling in Canada that her ideas began to take shape. In 2017, she launched Eclipse Handmade professionally, sharing her vision through carefully crafted, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Dorothée’s work is deeply inspired by nature, memory, and the mysteries of the universe. Her designs often echo the organic forms of the natural world—fluid lines, celestial symbols, and textures that evoke earth, sea, and sky. Much of this inspiration comes from her childhood summers spent along the Bay of Biscay and the rugged coastlines of the Côtes-d'Armor in Brittany, France. These formative experiences are reflected in the soft curves and raw beauty of her pendants and wearable sculptures.
A strong believer in slow craftsmanship, Dorothée creates each piece by hand using the ancient technique of lost-wax casting. She carves each design in wax, then casts it in sterling silver, transforming delicate, ephemeral shapes into lasting treasures. Every item is an original—designed, carved, and finished by hand—imbued with intention and soul.
Eclipse Handmade isn’t just jewelry. It’s a reflection of place, emotion, and the quiet magic found in the universe around us.
